More about our journey

In August of 2007, Mark arrived in Warrenton, Missouri. He had been volunteering 7 years with the Institute in Basic Life Principles. Feeling called to come back to US after serving in New Zealand, Mark had applied for and accepted a technical position at CEF in Warrenton. Hillary was working at CEF headquarters after working with CEF in Michigan, Iceland, and St Louis. Mark met Hillary on his first day on the job and felt immediately drawn to get to know her more. We were married in November of 2008.

Hillary eventually stopped working to be home full time with boys. Mark continued working in various technical roles, supporting software systems and managing projects. In early 2021, Mark left CEF. When a friend in Maine offered Mark a role with a nonprofit, we considered a big move to northern Maine. We packed up a U-Haul and moved cross country in early September of 2021. Since then, our family has come to love this snowbound land of natural beauty and kind people. Mark works locally, managing software systems and working in IT. Hillary stays busy taking care of 3 amazing, energetic boys.
